 OCCLA Wiki Use Policy

 

Purpose

The OCCLA wiki is for collaborative benefit of the Chairs and Directors of the Oregon Community College Library Association.

 

The community may derive information from viewing the wiki but the primary function is to facilitate communication between the Chairs and Directors. 

 

Definitions

OCCLA     Oregon Community College Library Association

 

Library-related   The purchasing, licensing, cataloging, processing, teaching, sharing and administering of library resources.

 

Best practices   A survey that determines how library-related activities are conducted at the member libraries.

 

Examples

Appropriate uses of the OCCLA wiki

     1.  Creation of library-related document.

              A.   Library-related documents may be but are not limited to, OCCLA agendas, OCCLA minutes, OCCLA consortium agreements, and OCCLA

                    constitution and by-laws.

     2.  Distance collaboration and editing of agendas and minutes.

     3.  Distance collaboration and editing of syllabi for library-related instruction.

     4.  Distance collaboration and editing of consortial agreements.

     5.  Best practices.

     6.  Post conference reviews.

     7.  Product reviews.

 

Inappropriate uses of the OCCLA wiki (but doesn't include the use of the chat feature)

     1.  Job announcements

     2.  Resources that have been withdrawn from one library and are free to another interested library.

     3.  Political positioning.
